What an Incredible Week it's been!

Within our adoption community there was a little group of families, who have been known (more or less) as the “Hopefully Tomorrow Club”. It’s not the sort of club you WANT to join. These amazing families have been going through…. COURT HELL… for a number of months now. If it wasn’t a missing document, it was a letter that needed to be written (then re-written)… if it wasn’t that, it was that the judge wasn’t in court that day…. So many things standing in the way of them passing court. And day after day they’d hear from their family coordinator… “Hopefully tomorrow”. Heartbreaking.

I honestly don’t know how these families made it through (Grace of God perhaps?!). It was about 100 DAYS of waiting to pass court (so they can officially become a family). THREE (3) months of getting their hopes up thinking this could be the day… only to have it come crashing down. Then to get your hopes up again the next day…. You can see what they mean about adoption being an emotional roller coaster.

Well guess what!? We got some AMAZING news earlier this week that these families were PASSING COURT!!! And as of yesterday there was only 1 family left to pass (there were originally 4 families stuck on this roller coaster)!!! Last night Heather (momma of the last family) sent out an email to the group asking us to pray for 4 things specifically:

1) for our character--that we would be good witnesses to our many nonchristian friends of how Christians endure patiently and with quiet trust in our God.

2) for our faith--that we would not allow this extended waiting to embitter us and that we would draw close to our Source of strength.

3) for our hearts--as much as we long for our son to "remember" us, it's logically less and less feasible, as three months have already passed.

4) for our son, as he's been often ill with respiratory illnesses.

Can I just tell you how incredible I think this woman is? She’s truly inspiring and i think her requests speaks volumes of this girl’s character, don’t you think? Way to be an example, Heather!!

It turns out, someone else must have thought highly of her as well (wink, wink)… BECAUSE THEY PASSED COURT!!!! I’m still in awe of all the answered prayers this week!

Between these families, SEVEN little and big kids have been found by their forever families! Oh boy…. Here I go crying again!

God is Good....ALL the time.
