Things are Ever Changing.

Welcome to International Adoption
where nothing is definite. :-)

Forget anything we might have said previously about the home study and our decision to go with a certain one. We had decided on G.L.A.D. and was waiting for them to sent us the application. We spent about a week playing phone tag and finally talked to them yesterday and they said they'd send us an application on Tuesday. *sigh* Like we wanted to wait another 5 days for them to even mail it out. But fear not...

GOD SHOWED UP TODAY WITH AN EVEN BETTER PLAN. Don't you love when He does that!? We have been seeing it more and more as we walk along this journey to our baby boz.

I won't bore you with the little details but we'll just say that God was closing the door on that agency. So we have decided to go with St. Elizabeth/Coleman (which is part of Catholic Charities) out of Indianapolis. After speaking with them again we are every excited and have a great feeling about working with them.

One of the bonuses of going with them is that they are a LOT closer than the previous agency; 150 miles v. 250 miles. That will save us a bundle of money when it comes to travel reimbursement (current rate is $.50/mi). The woman we spoke with also said they'd be willing to meet us half way when we go out there for our orientation! We won't be taking her up on the offer though as our favorite restaurant is in Indy. HA HA!

Boz asked if they had any social workers who lived somewhat closer to us. She rattled of a few names we'd never even hear of - she clearly doesn't know where we live. But then she said it... VALPARAISO. For those who aren't familiar with the area, Valpo is like 30 minutes from here! We are matched with a social worker coming from VALPO! CAN YOU BELIEVE IT!? *God showed up and knocked our socks off* Instead of paying $150 per trip, it would be more like $30!! THANK YOU, LORD!

I swear He slaps me on the head sometimes, instead of the 'gentle nudge' I'd been praying for.....
