The following is part an email we just got from our family coordinator:
Most families hear of a court date anywhere from 1-2 months after accepting their referral. We do still anticipate there is a chance you would hear of your court date before closures as we do typically see them assigned up until the day court closes, but at this point we do not anticipate your family’s court date will be before the closures.
Hopefully we'll be hearing about when our court date is going to be in the next two (2) weeks (courts close August 7th)! It'll be nice to know when court will be so we can start making plans and flight arrangements!
As much as I want to meet A*** and Z*** RIGHT NOW, i think having a court date when the courts re-open will be good. By then MOWYCA should be caught up on their approval letters...they're currently behind on writing these, and we'll need it in order to pass court.
If we were to get a court date the first week of August, and the letter wasn't there..... we'd have to wait until the courts re-opened anyway for us to pass. Only then we'd have met our kids and the time apart would be even harder to bear.
We're hoping to get a court date in October (heck, late September would be nice too!), fly out there, meet our kiddos and pass court on the first try. Ambitious, i know. :-) Then we can hopefully fly back and have them home by Thanksgiving! That's our plan at least. We'll see what actually happens.
