First FUNdraiser = Success!

This past Friday and Saturday my family held a garage sale in Elmhurst, IL as a fundraiser for our adoption. They donated many items to the garage sale themselves, as well as received donations from many friends of the family. My parents, sisters, brother-in-laws, nieces & nephews together put in hours of work getting ready for and working the garage sale. All three of my sisters were at my parents from 2:30pm to close to 8:00pm on Monday just pricing and organizing things. They, along with my nieces and nephews, also helped my parents run the garage sale on Friday and Saturday. My brother-in-laws came over early on Friday, before going to work themselves, to help set up.

The garage sale went from 9:00 to about 4:00 on Friday and 9:00 to 3:00 on Saturday. I had a basketball shoot-out in Grand Rapids, MI this weekend and could not be there. My family worked hard through the heat, humidity, and rain and through their efforts the fundraiser was a HUGE success!! They were able to raise about $840, in sales and monetary donations, to help aide our adoption expenses.

We feel so blessed to have such an Incredible, and Supportive family!!

Our next fundraiser will be our YARD SALE on July 8, 9, and 10. Already we have had an amazing amount of support in these efforts! We have had a ton of friends and co-workers donate items for the yard sale. We have had so much support that we have over half of our 2.5 car garage full of items to sell as well as half of our basement. Two of Jody's sisters were here on Saturday helping to organize items.

We want to thank everyone that has donated to the sales and we especially want to thank our families who have donated so much time to help us out. We thank God each day for the incredible family and friends that he has blessed us with.
