Another Thing Checked Off the To Do List

I am happy to report that our autobiographies and our 13 pages of questions and answers (for our home study) are OUT THE DOOR! Boz dropped them off at the post office yesterday. WHEW. It’s so nice not having that hanging over our heads!!! It should arrive in Indianapolis on Wednesday, and hopefully we’ll be hearing from them early next week (to set up a time to meet).

Now, next on the agenda… set up Doctor Appointments, get Police Reports, obtain Power of Attorney, and get Background Checks done from every county we’ve lived in since age 18. Thankfully we’ve both only lived in 3 counties each (all the same ones too!). Our home study agency is going to obtain our background check from Indiana (and hopefully we can get extra copies for our Dossier), which means we only have to get ours from Cook and Will County. We’re hoping to get Cook County done this week. We’ll see how things go. I might try and run over to the Daley Center on my lunch hour and see what we need and where we need to go to get that done. Anyone ever get a background check done? How'd it go? Easy? Hard?

As you can see, we’re only working on a few items at a time, otherwise it’s just too much paperwork and completely overwhelming!

Anyway, wanted to let ya know that we're making progress (even if it is slowly). Oh! And did you see my timeline on the sidebar? We got our passports last week! i was really bummed that i had to turn in my old passport because i didn't want to lose the stamps that i had in there. But then yesterday in the mail I got my old one sent back to me! YAY!!
